Strandgården is a camp facility that also has a camping area and pitches for caravans and motorhomes, as well as a hostel. The farm has a restaurant, kiosk, its own bakery, conference room, and church. Strandgården primarily operates from March to the end of October.
Description
The position is a temporary contract at 80%, but most intensive during the peak seasons; we work with annual working hours. Camps: spring and autumn from March 1 to June 15 and August to October. Summer season for camping and hostel accommodation is from June 16 to August 15. We are completely closed from November to February. The position is entirely located at the Strandgården workplace in Halmstad.
The housekeeper is part of the team that, during spring and autumn, together with the manager and various volunteer teams, takes care of the farm, prepares, and manages the operations. During June and July, the peak season, there are about 10-15 seasonal staff in the kitchen, café/restaurant, reception, and camping hosts. Here, the pressure is high, and everyone needs to help each other as a team. Flexibility is extremely important.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include planning menus and assortments in the restaurant and café, making purchases, cooking and baking, serving, cleaning, laundry, maintenance, and following food safety requirements. You are part of the whole and are helpful and flexible, actively participating in all tasks on the farm, including reception work as needed. You will also help train summer staff and volunteers and be part of the team where you actively contribute to a good working atmosphere.
Qualifications
You
· have an education in restaurant/catering or equivalent
· preferably have experience working in large kitchens and camp operations
and managing purchases and food safety
· are structured and have good organizational skills
· are flexible in your working methods and can adapt to the farm's daily operations
· have a positive view of people and want to contribute broadly to the farm's activities
· are good at building trust, working in teams, and driving issues independently
· are comfortable with and respect the organization's Christian values and mission
